You
I don’t know what it is about you that makes me an entirely different person.
I melt in your presence.
I become a pool of effervescent liquid.
Bubbling in the heat of your touch.
Simultaneously, I freeze.
I become rigid: struck with fear.
An unexpected hit of dopamine renders me unmoving, afraid.
My heart races and swells and hurts.
A shock of electricity passes through me.
Only when I think of you.
I’ve never felt this way before and,
It scares me.
Not because this is new.
But because you might not feel the same way.
